Argument by authority

Academic physics is a professional academic sector or business practiced by professional physicists. Like all professionals physicists too have a monopoly on some knowledge fields. And like all professionals they have a monopoly to argue by authority.
A lawyer is also a professional and has the argument to argue by authority. He will enforce an argument by using his professional authority. This is not surprising.
But since physicists have pretensions to be scientist they are not supposed to argue by authority. But before being scientists they are professionals. All professionals will lie and cheat to advance their careers. Physicists are no exception.
To the outside world physicists claim that “in physics experiment is the ultimate authority,” then they use myriads of ways to interpret the experiments to fit their doctrines.
Physicist also say that “equations are the ultimate authority” then like all unregulated professionals cheat and lie about what the equations really say. This is typical academic scholasticism.
