What is infinity?
- The subject involves mathematical and philosophical subtleties that at this point do not look like a priority for me.
Galileo on infinity
- Galileo explicitly says that our finite minds cannot understand infinity.
- But in order to say this he needs to know infinity, or at least define it, but no one clearly define this word, so human mind cannot define infinity.
- So what right do we have to use this word without defining this word in mathematics.
- Set theory charlatans claim to define it which mean that they claim to understand it.
- The thing is mathematical definitions are free definitions. You can define anything as anything. Definitions say nothing about existence.
